A remarkable film revealing how 57,000 silent killers were prised from the soil of South Lebanon in one of the world's most successful de-mining operations. In 2000, thousands of people were able to return to their villages for the first time in over 10 years. But within days their dreams were once again shattered.
Mines poisoned their land. Mines, laid to kill soldiers, now preyed on civilians. Inquisitive children were among their early victims and afraid to set foot in their houses, farm their fields or contemplate development of the region many of them went back to Beirut. South Lebanon was once more desolate and forgotten, with little hope of rejuvenation.
